38 weeks and counting....

So I find myself impatiently waiting for the arrival of my little guy.  My estimated due date is in 13days.  But that doesnt hold much value because it can be anywhere between now and 1 week past my EDD.   Thoughts of when and where I will be when going to go into labor are starting to consume me.  It try to be still and be in the moment but its hard.  I keep dreaming of my sons face and and how special the moment will be when I first meet him.  I am so in love already.
In the meantime, I am enjoying my last few weeks as a Mom of an only child.  Carmen is the light of my life and she fills me with joy.  It is so refreshing to see her view of the world and hear her giggles.  She tells the best knock knock jokes.  (Angel can attest to that!)  I am so proud of my daughter and how she is blossoming and soaking up the world around her.  I can see the kindness in her heart and also her stuborness at times.  She keeps life interesting thats for sure.
I love my family and God has blessed me with an amazing soon to be husband and father for my kiddos.
My hands my be full but my heart is overflowing.

Babies Don't Keep

I just want to share a favorite poem of mine with you guys.

Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo

The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Some people can be so inconsiderate!!

I am beyond annoyed with some of the fellow humans that occupy space!!!

Let me tell you about my day. I was craving a roast beef poboy with extra gravy. So Carmen and I ran some errands and the headed to Sammy's Poboys for a lunch date.  I parked my van in a parking spot with an empty space on both sides of me. I prefer extra space so I can easily get out of my car and open the sliding door to get Carmen out of her carseat without feeling squished, or having to be careful about dinging someone elses car when I open the door.

We head inside and I order my poboy with a tea and C wanted the baked mac n cheese.  She didn't eat it though b/c it came loaded with black pepper.  She doesnt like pepper b/c its "too hot".  I wish the menu said it had pepper so I didn't waste $4 on a side of macaroni.  Oh well my poboy was great, I ate the whole thing!

We head back to the car after lunch and there is a SUV parked about 6 inches from my side mirror.  Seriously.... Who parks their car that close to someone else? There was an older man sitting in the passenger seat, no body in the drivers seat.  I thought okay someone is in the car, the car is on and running. He can just move it to allow room for me to get into my car.  No biggie, right?

I look at him, look at my 8month preggo belly and he shrugs his shoulders and looks away.  I  wait a minute to see if he will look back and offer to move the car so I can get in my car.  Nope he keeps looking in the other direction avoiding me.  Mind you its like 100 degrees outside at noon!!!

I was seriously ready to open my car door and slam it into the side of their pretty white SUV.  How rude!!  I quickly dismissed that idea.  I am not that ballsy!!

At this point Carmen is already buckled in the carseat (I put her in from the passenger side).  The heat index outside is about 114 degrees so I can not leave her sitting there for long. I am still hoping Mr. Grumpy Old Man will stop being a coward and look at me and offer to move his car.  No, he just sat there pretending like I didnt exist and wouldnt even look in my direction.

So I had no choice except to get in my car from the passenger side and climb across the to drivers seat with my huge 36week baby bump. That was such a fun experience... NOT!  Especially when Carmen asks, "Mommy, why are you getting in the car from that side"?

I was so mad when I drove off!! I had to bite my tounge so I wouldnt go off on that man.

I am Back with a Smile

I tend to start a new project and not finish it. I always have all these great ideas that get started but not completed or they simply take forever to accomplish. I admit that is one of my character flaws. Now that I have layed it on the table for you guys, let me say,
"I want to start up my blog again even if it has been a year and a half since my last post."
Wow, it has been too a long!!! I will attempt to briefly fill you in on some of my life since then.

We are expecting our second child.  Its a boy! My EDD is 8/31/11.
36W pregnant with our 2nd baby.

Carmen is delighted to be a big sister.  She is our little helper.  Her and brother are going to be 3.5 years apart.
Big sister helping daddy put together brother's highchair.
Angel and I have been engaged since June 12, 2008 and are finally going to say "I do" on Sept. 24, 2011 at City Park in New Orleans.  A mere 3 weeks after brother will be born.

Soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Miranda.

Congrats Graduate.  Yay me!!! I received my Associates in General Science from Delgado Community College Dec 2010.

Carmen got her first hair cut a month after her 3rd bday.  She did great!

I took Cita strawberry picking in Covington, La for the first time.  What a fun time.  We picked 1/2 flat of strawberrys and ate as much as we wanted along the way.  I plan to make this a yearly tradition.
We spent the first 2 weeks of Jan 2011 in Puerto Rico.  We always have a great time when visiting Angel's parents.
On New Years Eve watching fireworks with Abuela and Abuelo.

Thats a wrap.  I am sure I left a ton of stuff out since my last post.  But I kept it brief and I am going to do my best to keep up with biweekly post.  I would be lying if I said I could commit to more than that. Cheers!!
